100 - "Being a Multiracial Family"

Course: "Being a Multiracial Family: is a three-part course examining diversity and how it relates to your family and your environment; role-playing situations other parents have experienced; and ways to incorporate the changes into your life. Includes adoptive parent panel, adult adoptee panel and extensive resource guide.

Directions: Exit from 90/94 on to Roosevelt Road (1200 South) going East to Clark Street, take a right on Clark going South to 19th Street, take a left on 19th Street and go East, approximately 1.5 blocks. There is a parking lot on your right or you may park on the street. Note please do not park on a permit parking street. Perspectives Charter school is a new silver two story triangular building. (There is a gray one story building on the other side of the parking lot. ) We generally meet in the library on the corner of 19th & Archer. It is floor to ceiling glass with a door on the North side of the building ( 19th street) near the library of the school.
Please note: One corner of the silver two story triangular building is at the corner of State and Archer. The school is located just south of the Chicago Loop.

Public Transportation: The red line of the "L" China town stop is approximately a two block walk away on Archer. The stop is southwest of the school. Walk northeast on Archer . It is a new silver triangular building. We generally meet in the library on the corner of 19th & Archer. It is floor to ceiling glass with a door on the North side of the building (19th Street) near the library of the school.

Being a Multiracial Family (Tele-training)

Course: "Being a Multiracial Family" is three-session program examining diversity and how it relates to your family/environment; role-playing - how to handle new situations; and ways to incorporate the changes into your life. You will have the opportunity to talk with adult transracial adoptees.

Structure: Three 1-1/2 hr. tele-training calls
Materials: Participants receive: Self Awareness Guide, Course Manual, Resource Guide, and Homework Assignments
Cost: $125.00 per person
(International Participants: additional $10.00 mailing costs)

Class Time: 7:30 - 9:00 p.m. CST (for families outside of IL)
